TC 3.6 official scope is as follows:
This technical committee is concerned with water
treatment for building water systems (except sewage drainage
systems) and the impact of water treatment on building operations
and maintenance, water and energy efficiency, human health,
and water resource conversation in the applications of these
systems.
TC
3.6 is focused on water treatment and the control of scale,
corrosion, and microbiological contamination in cooling
and heating systems, both open and closed loop. Our scope covers
water treatment for equipment such as cooling towers, closed
circuit cooling towers, evaporative condensers, chillers,
and boilers used in comfort cooling, light industrial,
and refrigeration applications. Our members offer their wide knowledge
on these topics in many different Society activities.
In an effort to further knowledge
and understanding in our field, TC3.6 sponsors Research
Projects, either solely or in conjunction with other Technical
Committees. We also sponsor relevant seminars, symposiums, forums,
and/or technical papers.
Our Committee is also responsible for the writing and revision of Chapter 47 of the HVAC Applications section of the ASHRAE Handbook dealing with Water Treatment. In this effort, we coordinate with other Committees on relevant chapters, such as Chapter 13, Condenser Water Systems, Chapter 35, Evaporative Condensers, and Chapter 36, Cooling Towers, all found in the HVAC Systems & Equipment section of the ASHRAE Handbook.
If you would like to participate in our activities, or have a suggestion or question for the Committee, please feel free to contact any one of our officers or attend our next meeting
